Neal Brauner, an Associate consultant of RLR, has over 28 years of broad-based experience in the financial services industry. He has an extensive background in the areas of financial management, strategic planning, product development, marketing, and information technology.
Mr. Brauner serves as SVP/Chief Financial Officer for a $750 million thrift and a $2.5 billion credit union. He was also Treasurer of a $1.5 billion commercial bank and headed the asset/liability management department of an $11 billion regional bank holding company. As a consultant, he has worked with commercial banks and credit unions, both large and small, from across the nation.
His experience includes:
Managed a department responsible for interest rate risk, liquidity, and balance sheet management; hedging; product pricing; merger & acquisition analysis; and strategicplanning for an $11 billion bank holding company operating in four states and Canada.
As part of a management team brought in to assist a bank operating under a Cease and Desist order, developed positive working relationships with FDIC and State regulators, de-leveraged the balance sheet through asset and branch sales, stabilized earnings, and secured new capital. These actions ultimately resulted in the Order being rescinded.
Worked closely with executive managements, Boards of Directors and investment bankers on corporate strategic planning issues including: development of long-term business plans and branching strategies, mergers & acqusitions, and issuance of new capital.
Mr. Brauner holds a BA in Economics from the University of Washington, followed by graduate study in Business Administration with a concentration in both International Business and Social Management of Technology. He has been actively involved with organizations fostering entrepreneurship and small business incubation.
